Prescriptions

Requests for medication can only be placed by yourself or a relative, there are a few ways you can order medication:

During the COVID-19 Pandemic we have temporarily accepted prescription requests over the phone – from Monday 22 November this will no longer be possible and one of the below options will need to used to order your prescriptions.

  • By coming into surgery and completing an order slip/repeat slip
  • By posting your repeat slip to the surgery
  • By using the online ordering system (see Online Services for more information)
  • By signing up for the Repeat Dispensing Service (ask for more information at the surgery)

Once you have placed the order for what you need with us, the pharmacist can pick up the prescription from us and deliver it to you.

We promote patients being in control of the ordering process and able to manage their own medication needs.

Repeat Prescriptions

Your doctor may set up repeat prescriptions if you are on long-term drug treatment. Order your next supply using the slip from your previous prescription or online using the above link or from the home page of this website. Order before you run out.

Please do not expect Service Advisors to produce prescriptions on demand – allow time to prepare, check and sign them. At intervals you will be asked to see your doctor or a nurse to review your medication.

All ordered prescriptions will be ready to collect after 2pm, 2 WORKING DAYS later. Make your own arrangements with chemists if they are collecting on your behalf for home delivery.  Allow enough delivery time before you run out.

You can use the online services to order authorised repeat prescriptions.  You will not be able to order anything more than 10 days before due date.  To use our online services you need to obtain login and password details from surgery.  Please call in the surgery to request this service – we cannot arrange over the phone, and we will need proof of identification to make sure we keep your records secure.  We will then be able to issue you with password and further instructions.

Please note the online service can only be used to order items that your doctor has authorised as repeat prescriptions – we are not able to deal with other questions and requests using the online requesting service.

Electronic Prescriptions

Patients can nominate a pharmacist to electronically download your repeat prescription to save you collecting it from the practice. This might not be suitable for all patients so speak to your regular pharmacist for more information or click on the link below for an overview.

Patient Information – Electronic Prescribing

Please continue to allow 2 days from ordering.
